The Department of Music and Performing Arts at Hampton University , which houses the BA in Music (Performance and Music Education Pre-Certification), BS in Music Recording Technology, BS in Audio Production, BA in Theatre (Performance and Technical Theatre) and service courses in Oral Communication and Humanities is seeking to fill a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities
Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Duties and Responsibilities
- The successful candidate must be committed to teaching undergraduate courses in Oral Communications, Public Humanities, and other discipline-related topics.
- The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the scholarly advancement of the department, the School of Liberal Arts and Education, and the University through a productive research agenda that includes grantsmanship as well as service activities.
- Successful candidates are expected to advise majors and hold office hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Qualified candidates must have a master’s degree or at least 18 credit hours in Communications, Public Humanities, or a related field from an accredited university.
- A Ph.D. is strongly preferred.
- Experience in and evidence of successful teaching in a university setting is required.
- Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in research and grantsmanship.
- Rank and compensation are commensurate with credentials and experience.
