Ottawa University Kansas Campus (OUKS) invites candidates for a full-time, 9-month Visiting Biology Faculty position. The successful candidate will teach a broad range of courses and laboratories at the undergraduate level in the Biology program with a focus on cell biology and biochemistry. Additional responsibilities may include courses within the Applied Sciences Division. Responsible for providing high-quality and engaging instruction and academic mentoring to students; developing, assessing, and assuring excellent pedagogy and curriculum design, both within the discipline and in contributions to the Liberal Arts core program; promoting student achievement and academic integrity on behalf of the University; collaboration with support services provided through units such as the Adawe Academic Advising Center; and Academic program development for currency, growth, retention, and recruitment.




Teaching Load: Teaching a full-time course load, defined as eight (8) courses per year, four courses per semester, or the equivalent of 24 credit hours per year (12 credit hours per semester). Load definitions for courses involving laboratory instruction, supervision of experiential learning, or other variations from the traditional lecture/seminar format are determined in consultation with the Dean of Arts and Sciences. Course load primarily consists of undergraduate biology courses QUALIFICATIONS


Master’s in biology, Earned Doctorate preferred.      

Three years of higher education experience in a residential liberal arts setting is preferred.
