As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a Assistant Professor of Leadership of Klipsch Educators College to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by teaching graduate courses in doctoral (Ed.D.), Master’s, and licensure-only programs. In addition to teaching, this position will play an integral role in advising graduate students through individual dissertation/capstone research projects and creating a positive student experience. Successful applicants will foster student learning and growth, be a reflective practitioner, and trained in the Adaptive Leadership framework. This is a tenure-track eligible position with a non-tenure track option. The Leadership Academy in the Fred S. Klipsch Educators College seeks qualified applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor of Leadership starting in June 2024.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
  • Teach graduate courses at the Master’s and/or Doctoral levels.
  • Mentor and advise students through dissertation/capstone research projects.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, delivery, assessment, and improvement.
  • Supervise school leadership students during their school or district internships.
  • Engage positively with other offices, departments, and colleges across the university.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Marian University.
  • A terminal degree from a regionally accredited university or enrollment in a terminal degree program with degree completion expected within one year of start date.
  • Training in the Adaptive Leadership framework is preferred.
  • Candidates must have experience in teaching adult professionals.
  • Experience with advising students in research is preferred.
  • Excellent teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Be available to teach some evenings and 1-2 Saturdays per month.
