The University of Indianapolis is currently seeking an Associate Adjunct in Theatre beginning August 2024. This is an outstanding opportunity for a professional to join a growing university. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track, partial benefits position.

Reporting directly to the Chair of the Department of Communication, this faculty position will support the fulfillment of the University's mission, purpose and goals. As an Associate Adjunct, you will be on a one-year contract responsible for teaching up to 21 credit hours.

This position will involve teaching technical theatre courses, building and overseeing the coming together of the technical elements/needs of Theatre and its productions.

Qualifications- Associate Adjunct of Theatre
  • MA or MFA degree in specialty field or a master’s degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate credits in theatre is required.
Responsibilities- Associate Adjunct of Theatre
  • Deliver courses with clear outcomes, meaningful assignments, and transparent, timely assessment
  • Model effective teaching and professionalism
  • Manage inclusive, responsive learning environments
  • Attend and participate collaboratively in department and faculty meetings
  • Be flexible and responsive in teaching and conduct weekly office hours
  • Manage the technical aspects of Theatre
  • Oversee student employee involved in technical aspects
  • Assist and coordinate the building and bringing together of production elements
