The Opportunity:

The facilities department at the Prescott Campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is looking for a Materials Management Worker to handle the following job duties:
  • Assist in receiving incoming materials, verifying quantities and quality against packing slips or purchase orders.
  • Label, sort, and organize received materials for storage or distribution within the college campus.
  • Assist in preparing outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling items according to shipping guidelines.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shipping and receiving area.
  • Collaborate with campus departments to fulfill orders and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Perform inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and campus departments to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations while handling materials and operating equipment.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by participating in recycling and waste reduction efforts within the shipping and receiving area.
  • Assist in office moves by relocating furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed to support departmental relocations or renovations.
This is a temporary position with a projected end date of August 15, 2024.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or materials management preferred.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
