Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice

The School of Humanities, Education, Justice & Social Sciences at Lasell University seeks an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice. More senior rank will be considered based on experience and other credentials.

Lasell University emphasizes learning by doing, or what it calls "connected learning" in all professional and liberal arts programs. Faculty in all disciplines at Lasell may have the opportunity to teach in our Honors Program as well as the Core Curriculum, which could include teaching First Year Seminar, a Knowledge Perspective course in one of four areas, a sophomore multidisciplinary course, or a section of the junior Ethics Experience. Responsibilities:

Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate introductory and advanced courses in Criminal Justice. In addition, the candidate will be expected to teach in our online graduate M.S. in Criminal Justice program.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work both within and beyond the department to shape the ongoing development of undergraduate and graduate programs in response to new potential markets. Our growing undergraduate and graduate programs are looking to enhance and diversify offerings.

In response to the University's "connected learning" philosophy, successful applicants will demonstrate passion for a student-centered teaching environment and innovative, project-focused initiatives utilizing an active, experiential approach. Productivity and currency in an academic discipline as well as commitment to college community involvement are priorities.

Qualifications:

Requirements include a doctorate in Criminal Justice, Criminology or other crime-related academic discipline. ABD will also be considered. Prior college teaching experience is strongly preferred.
