This individual is responsible for assisting students in securing appropriate experiential learning opportunities (co-ops, internships, projects, hackathons, etc.) across the Bay Area with a focus on technical and tech-adjacent opportunities. This role will advise and coach students individually and in groups throughout the job search and application process, with a focus on topics related to career development and employment search, including resume and cover letter development and review, interview techniques, and effective job search strategies. This will involve both industry and region-specific content, as well as incorporating career preparation curricula from partner colleges.

  • Contribute to career and professional development for our growing student population, including managing innovative career events, delivering seminars, hosting networking sessions, and growing the signature career programming for the region.
  • Facilitate and grow experiential learning, job placement, projects and other career-related opportunities across college programs.
  • Ensure positive, collegial partnerships and working relationships with faculty and staff to ensure successful student outcomes.
  • Support the growth of project-based learning and Experiential Network (XN) by helping students access and participate in projects that align with both job market needs and their experiential learning goals.

  • Support and promote opportunities (jobs, internships, research, projects, service learning, etc.) to student populations.

Administration and Reporting (30%):

  • Track and continually improve our processes and systems for tracking student career outcomes and key milestones across the career journey for students assigned in the caseload. This includes participation in experiential learning, internships, co-op, and other work experience, as well as full-time placement metrics.
  • Ensure accurate records are kept in terms of work authorization/compliance for students and employers.
  • Develop and execute surveys that keep the pulse on student experiences.
  • Track, manage, and facilitate student interactions with career development events and experiential opportunities using Northeastern systems (NUworks [Symplicity], Handshake, Canvas, Salesforce, etc.) to collect applications and organize learner's participation, engage existing employers, oversee participants, and facilitate student experiences in experiential and career-related programs.
  • Provide and utilize predictive analysis of student participation trends to drive programmatic improvements each semester.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in a student/career-focused environment and have a professional background in experiential learning, preferably in the technology education space, AND/OR, worked as a technical recruiter, technical hiring manager, or in a similar function.
