Student Aide - Admissions Processing - Summer Position

The College was established by referendum in 1965 and opened September 1967. It is named for Dr. William Rainey Harper, a pioneer in the junior college movement in the United States and the first president of the University of Chicago.

Harper College is now one of the nation’s premier community colleges and one of the largest, serving approximately 29,000 students annually in Chicago’s northwest suburbs. Experience Requirements:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and departmental information
  • Customer service skills a plus.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to follow directions and work under little supervision.
  • Enjoy working with people - build strong relationships easily.
  • Punctual and reliable.
Education Requirements: In order to apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College student, enrolled in at least six credits per semester (three for summer).

Schedule Information: Will determine schedule based on student's availability. Must have a minimum of seventeen hours availability to work during the following hours:

Monday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Friday 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Hours per week: 20 Hrs

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Work is primarily indoors and sedentary in nature.

Equipment/Tools Used: Utilizes standard office equipment to carry out job responsibilities.


About the Team:
The Admissions Processing Office is responsible for handling and upholding the integrity of academic records, including applications, high school and college transcripts, and ACT/SAT transcripts. This office manages both physical and electronic student files, ensuring the accuracy and standardization of data.



Duties of Position:
  • Data entry of admissions academic documents such as applications and transcripts.
  • Provides backup telephone and counter assistance.
  • Sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Scans and verifies documents and indexes images.
  • Collaborates with the Registrar’s office to provide student services support.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
