Neighborhood Asset Manager

Position Summary:
The Neighborhood Asset Manager will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing construction management activities of OWB and BEST, including improvements to both privately owned properties as well as properties owned by OWB and BEST.Construction and property management activities will include:
  • Outreaching to property owners to participate in improving property conditions.
  • Participating in bid processes by soliciting contractors and acquiring eligible bids.
  • Supervising and inspecting construction to ensure timely completion of projects and acceptable level of quality and conformity to scope of work.
  • Coordinating efforts of volunteers to accomplish select projects.

Vacant and Nonprofit owned properties activities will include:
  • Responding to maintenance requests from tenants and prioritizing their solutions.
  • Coordinating professional services when maintenance issues exceed employees qualifications.
  • Maintaining or improving the landscaping and facades of properties
  • Working with other contractors and/or volunteers to accomplish beautification efforts.Salary of $25/hour plus benefits.

    Required Qualifications:
  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of housing rehabilitation, including but not limited to:
    • State and federal regulations relating to accessibility, lead hazards, etc.
    • Residential and commercial construction practices,

  • Excellent writing skills and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications is essential.
  • Ability to interpret contracts and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and independently develop alternative solutions
  • Experience and competence with relevant computer applications.
  • Ability to obtain lead abatement certifications within 6 months of employment
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • International Code Council (ICC) Property Maintenance, Residential Building Inspector Certification
  • Additional training/education in a construction related discipline
