REPORTS TO: Executive Director, Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning

Middlesex College is seeking an Outreach Recruitment Manager that will assist with the recruitment and outreach for Workforce Development & Lifelong Learning (WDLL) programs. This position is responsible for providing a broad range of services including recruitment, enrollment, orientation, and tracking participants throughout involved in our WDLL programs.


  1. Establishes and meets annual recruitment goals by developing key relationships with industry-related businesses, community organizations, and higher education institutions, organizing recruitment events, making presentations to groups, etc.
  2. Develops and manages a recruitment plan that will include outreach, recruiting and yielding under-represented, local, urban students for WDLL programs
  3. Collaborates with the Site Director and the Marketing and Communications team, conceptualizes and designs presentations and materials for future students.
  4. Monitors implementation of the scope of work, tracks performance measures, and assesses progress as well as completing quarterly, annual, and final reporting according to grant requirements.
  5. Develops, coordinates, and implements various events, activities, and presentations to recruit and yield new participants.
  6. Works with College Administrators to schedule Related Technical Instruction (RTI) and other course sections for apprenticeship programs.
  7. Coordinates and facilitates information and orientation sessions that inform potential participants about WDLL programs.
  8. Conducts site visits to ensure audit guidelines are being met.
  9. Works closely with the Director of Grants to plan and implement a successful grant-funding program, including: documentation of expenditures; assisting with the development of training workshops for stakeholders; and any other administrative and operational requirements of the grant.
  10. Delivers quality customer service to both internal and external constituents in a professional, helpful, and courteous manner.
  11. Meets with Industry and attends Community events to provide outreach and increase awareness of programs offered in WDLL.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Associate Degree
  • Three (3) years of experience recruiting underrepresented students or implementing outreach programs
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to work with a variety of internal and external constituents
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Destiny 1
  • Broad understanding of regulations and processes related to government grants and funding agencies
  • Previous experience in the development and implementation of educational programming with high completion rates and other outcomes
  • Knowledge of FERPA and ethical principles in working with students


Duration: Until 3/31/2026

May require occasional travel.

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends based on business needs.

RETIREMENT: Pension Eligible

This is a specially funded position, dependent for its existence upon federal, State, or other non-College operating funds, and is not funded pursuant to the regular College budget. Continued employment is always contingent upon satisfactory performance and College needs. Grant funded positions are also contingent upon continued funding. This appointment is for the specified period only. Employment beyond the expiration date of the grant is subject to appropriate provisions of existing collectively bargained agreements in effect at the time for employees covered by those agreements.

Any Middlesex College employee hired after September 1, 2011 will have to meet the New Jersey residency law requirement.
