Job Summary

Provide direct clinical services to students, outreach programming and professional training to the Georgia Southern community on a variety of mental health issues, clinical training to practicum students and interns as needed, and consultations to faculty and staff regarding college student mental health

  • Provide individual, couples, and group therapy to Georgia Southern students
  • In collaboration with the Associate Director - Clinical Services, provide Associate Director - Armstrong campus with necessary reports on clinical services provided by the Armstrong Campus Counseling Center
  • In the absence of the Associate Director - Armstrong campus, serve as the leave administrator/clinician for the Armstrong Campus Counseling Center and report directly to the Executive Director of the Counseling Center
  • Provide crisis on-call service in rotation with other clinical staff
  • Provide crisis/triage assessment and response to students as needed
  • Participate in various training programs housed within the Counseling Center
  • Provide outreach programming and consultations to campus community
  • Coordinate one or more areas of Counseling Center service as requested by Executive Director
  • Maintain compliance with Counseling Center policies and procedures
  • In collaboration with the Assistant Director for Outreach and Community Engagement, coordinate the provision of Armstrong campus Counseling Center outreach programs
  • Provide clinical supervision to Counseling Center trainees and staff as needed, upon the request of the Associate Director - Armstrong Campus

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Master's Degree in clinical/counseling psychology or in social work
  • Fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia, or the ability to obtain the respective credential in Georgia within six (6) months of start date

Other Required Qualifications
  • Licensed as an LPC or LCSW in the State of Georgia

Required Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of post degree clinical experience

Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing administrative and/or clinical supervision to staff

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

  • Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
  • Ability to manage a caseload of individual, couples, and group therapy clients
  • Ability to document clinical interactions using Electronic Medical Record system
  • Ability to develop knowledge of College Counseling Center Service Models
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information
  • Ability to work well collaboratively and independently

  • Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
  • Understanding of social, developmental, and psychological issues and challenges faced by students in higher education
  • Knowledgeable about and ability to present outreach programming on mental health topics

  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
  • Effective clinical and therapeutic skills
  • Effective time management and detail orientation skills
