Responsibilities:
Based in Boston and reporting to the Executive Director, Leadership Relations, the Assistant Director (AD), Student Leadership Relations is a critical member of the University Advancement team and will maintain close relationships with constituents from students to senior Advancement leadership. They will promote the effectiveness of, and cooperation among, University Advancement, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and appropriate college, student affairs, and academic units, to promote student recruitment, engagement, and advancement.

Alumni, parents, and friends play an important role in maintaining the university's academic excellence by referring talented individuals. The AD will support the referral program, providing in-depth data management, programming campus meetings, and serving as the primary contact to referring parties throughout the enrollment process. As part of this referral and student success program, they will manage the student employees involved in multiple experiential opportunities inclusive of the Presidential Ambassador Program. This program enlists Northeastern University students to serve as representatives of the university at events throughout the year. The AD will be responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and coordinating Ambassadors during their time in the program. They are key in accurately and positively introducing the university's vibrant and exciting educational opportunities to candidates and their families.

The AD will cultivate relationships with yielded students and their parents in support of advancement strategies. They will identify opportunities and create programming to increase student and parent philanthropic involvement. They will leverage their knowledge and experience in student affairs, academic advising, alumni and parent relations, and/or relationship or volunteer management to advise and collaborate with colleagues throughout the university on matters related to student support and engagement. The position requires strong data management skills, interpersonal skills, the ability to listen, a service-oriented attitude, and a strong work ethic. Knowledge of advancement and/or global experiences are a plus. The AD must be self-motivated and detail-oriented, able to manage workload independently, and manage ongoing projects at the same time. Challenges include juggling multiple responsibilities in a very busy environment as work involves creative and strategic thinking, collaboration, and utmost integrity. Travel is not a requirement of this position.

Qualifications:
Strong data management, presentation, process management, organization, short-term and long-range planning, communication, analytic, interpersonal, and student development skills, and the ability to supervise and set priorities are required. A successful candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic and is highly attentive to detail, who actively contributes to the office welfare in a high volume, fast-paced environment. Proven ability to set priorities and work independently as well as collaboratively across units and is sensitive and responsive to the needs of diverse constituencies required. These skills and knowledge have been acquired through a bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least 3-5 years' relevant experience preferably in Advancement / Development/ Alumni Relations.
