The Division of Computer Science within Clemson University's School of Computing is excited to announce openings for four tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant level. We are looking to enhance and complement our current strengths in the dynamic field of Computer Science. Three positions of our search are focused on candidates with expertise in software engineering; systems and networking; natural language processing and Large Language Models (LLMs); and algorithms/theory. Another position of our search is focused on explainable AI, which is a joint position with Artificial Intelligence-Enabled Devices for the Advancement of Personalized and Transformative Health Care in South Carolina or ADAPT-SC that funded by NSF.

The School of Computing, amidst its continuous growth, now comprises 36 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, 16 non-tenure track faculty, and a vibrant student community of more than 1,200 undergraduates and over 400 graduate students. The School offers a wide array of degrees at the Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctorate levels in disciplines including Computer Science, Human-Centered Computing, Digital Production Arts, Biomedical Data Sciences and Informatics, and an interdisciplinary master’s program in Systems Engineering.

We proudly operate satellite campuses in Greenville and Charleston, which are integral parts of our vibrant academic community. While the primary location for this Assistant Professor position in Computer Science is likely to be our main campus, we also consider the unique opportunities our satellite campuses offer. Depending on the research fit, the candidate's interest, and other relevant factors, positions at Greenville or Charleston campuses could be potential options. This flexibility allows us to tailor the position to best suit the needs of the department and the successful candidate, ensuring an environment conducive to groundbreaking research and teaching.

An earned doctorate or equivalent in a relevant field is required for this tenure-track position.
