City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) , the largest community college system in Illinois, is made up of seven colleges and five satellite sites, providing more than 70,000 students each year access to a quality, affordable education.

Navigate is a student success management system, an enterprise-level technology developed by CCC’s educational software partner, EAB, that links faculty, advisors, staff and students in a coordinated care network that holistically supports students from enrollment to graduation and success.

Navigate is designed to proactively manage student retention and success, providing workflow tools that enable targeted interventions and that allows college administrators to better communicate with students as they progress towards graduation .

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the Executive Director of Academic and Student Success, theProject Manager-Student Success Technology,as a member of the Advising and Student Success leadership team, works to develop and strengthen student support program implementation and data management with a specific focus on Navigate, CCC’s student success management system.

The position serves as the primary bridge between the users of Navigate and IT support to coordinate the implementation of system interfaces and data integration with programming.

TheProject Manager – Student Success Technologyis a highly collaborative role, working with district and college administrators to include Deans of Instruction and Student Services, Decision Support, IT, and student support teams, to establish and operationalize holistic student support and engagement strategies to increase retention and completion rates. Performs related duties as required.

This is a 2 year grant funded position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Collaborates with campus partners to plan and implement technology interfaces and data integration of technology tools that support student success district wide.
  • Develops program plans by initiating and coordinating communication among the stakeholders including advisors, researchers, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Meets with college leadership and Navigate champions to coordinate the tool’s capacities with college strategies.
  • Coordinates with partners across campus, and in addition, serve as liaison between system users and OIT staff to develop technology interfaces that are easy to understand and access.
  • Facilitates the process to gain access to various technology tools for leaders and student support network staff across campus.
  • Supports and actively participates in assessment of implementation and programming.
  • Responds to inquiries about access and functionality of the systems.
  • Plans strategically with technology and system staff to implement fixes, upgrades, and enhancements of technology systems and tools.
  • Serves as primary liaison to district vendors supporting student success technology platforms.
  • Designs, implements, and facilitates ongoing professional development in alignment with the Student Success Framework competencies for professional advancement in collaboration with leadership.
  • Drafts data policies, facilitates data and reporting requirements; defines standard metrics and scorecards while strongly influencing the associated enabling technology platforms.
  • Investigates new opportunities to acquire structured and unstructured data for use in enterprise decision making.
  • Collaborates and supports the student success leadership team with strategic planning and long-range goal setting, communication efforts, training opportunities and professional development.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Higher Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three to five years professional experience working in higher education programs or organizations focused on areas of student success, enrollment services, advising, student affairs, and retention.
  • Basic knowledge of student success system Navigate, (EAB); Degree Works, Handshake and FOCUS 2 platforms.
  • Experience with assessment and assimilation of feedback for review with stakeholders.
  • Commitment to diversity as demonstrated by active involvement in initiatives to promote diversity and or enhanced learning experiences through diverse environments.
  • Must be able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move towards consensus
  • Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
