Children's Group Facilitator

Department: LRE-Parent to Parent - 260202

Minimum Qualifications
Experience and passion for working with children of various ages
Experience working with children with special needs.

Familiarity with creative child-youth discipline techniques.

Experience in working with and planning activities for children-youth in small groups.

Ability to provide non-judgmental support.

Professional interpersonal skills.

Successful completion of a criminal background check.
Successful completion of required Minor’s Training

License/Certification Required


Essential Job Functions
Providing a safe, supportive and fun environment.

Learning about the children who attend.

Organizing appropriate activities
Record keeping.

Working with Parent Group Coordinator and other childcare provider(s) to assure adequate staffing.

Providing adequate notice if unable to attend.

Completing required trainings and submitting documentation to supervisor.

Leaving the space clean and in good order after each meeting.

Learning how to complete and turning in on-line and paper timesheets on time.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position


Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from high school and classwork or equivalent experience in working with children and youth.

Experience with children with special needs.

Ability to work evening and weekends as needed.

Work Schedule/Hours: Work site may be in Ashe or Wilkes County, NC or both. Work site will be determined with applicant.Approximately 3-3.5 evening hours a week beginning at 5:00 p.m.
