Job Description
The Department of Health Psychology in the College of Health Sciences (CHS) at the University of Missouri (MU) in Columbia, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track (NTT), Assistant/Associate/Full Clinical Professor. This faculty member will primarily provide direct clinical services via an outpatient model within the Department of Health Psychology clinics, with expectations to provide evaluations/testing and treatment services. Faculty will also be involved in providing clinical supervision through our APA accredited pre-doctoral internship program and APPCN-affiliated post-doctoral training program. Opportunities to collaborate on clinical research in the areas of neuropsychology and health psychology are also available. Involvement in service activities at the departmental, college, and/or university levels is expected.

- Autonomy and flexibility in regard to patient populations treated and clinic schedule
- Potential for clinical service area development and improvement of existing service lines
- Involvement in psychology training programs with strong national reputations and history of external grant funding
- Collaboration with health care providers from multiple MU departments in clinical service, research, and training
- Licensure renewal fees covered annually
- Department provides annual professional development funds and paid time off to participate in professional development activities
- Salary increases with promotion to higher academic rank and achievement of board certification
Qualified candidates will have:
- a Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree in clinical or counseling psychology (conferred prior to application)
- completed a post-doctoral fellowship focused on neuropsychology, health psychology, rehab psychology, or behavioral medicine before the start of the position
- eligibility for Missouri Psychology licensure
- eligibility for ABPP board certification in specialty area
- the ability to develop new clinical service lines of the faculty’s choosing (e.g., oncology, neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative conditions, chronic medical conditions, etc.)
- strong clinical skills
- commitment to providing empirically supported clinical care
- clinical interests and/or experience in one or more of the
following areas:
- oncology
- pre-surgical evaluations
- ADHD assessments
- TBI/rehab
- epilepsy
- smoking cessation
- chronic medical conditions
- chronic pain
- cardiology
- Interest in being involved in clinical training and/or developing clinical training opportunities for psychology interns, post-doc, and other trainees
Rank and Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the applicant.
