Applications are invited for a 1-year postdoctoral research fellowship in the Department of Psychology at Wesleyan University that is renewable for a 2nd year. We seek an outstanding researcher with a Ph.D. in psychology or a related field, interested in collaborating on cognitive science research. The postdoctoral fellow will work with Dr. Barbara Juhasz and Dr. Kyungmi Kim on research projects that investigate skilled word recognition during reading and individual and social factors affecting memory processes. Our research laboratories are equipped with an Eyelink1000 eye-tracker (SR Research) and computers for conducting behavioral experimental research.

The fellow will be involved in all aspects of research including study development, data collection and analysis, and dissemination of research findings. They will develop and teach an undergraduate seminar one semester each year in their area of expertise. They will also have the opportunity to mentor exceptional undergraduates involved in research. This fellowship is designed to prepare the fellow to compete successfully for a tenure-track position in cognitive psychology and includes training and supervision to develop an independent research program and to mentor and teach undergraduates. Wesleyan University is a highly selective liberal arts institution, where faculty are actively engaged in research. Wesleyan University also offers teaching training through the Office of Faculty Development.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in psychology or a related field. Competitive candidates will have a demonstrated ability to complete projects as evidenced by first-author publications, experience in behavioral experimental research, and proficiency with programming and statistical analysis software (e.g., Matlab, PsychoPy, E-prime, R,SPSS).
