Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to work with principal investigators and research staff to budget, monitor expenditures, and reconcile financial data for sponsored programs within the Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics. May directly process and/or approve accounting transactions such as cost transfers, procurement, sub award management, and financial processing related to sponsored project management. May review and approve transactions on behalf of an intermediate unit or center. This position maps to TTC PD SC024 - Post-Award Sponsored Programs, Grants & Contracts Accountant (Dept/Center).

This position supports the growing Geriatrics Grants Research Program. This program consists of two teams that function cohesively to support the Division of Geriatrics and the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC): 1) Grants Research Team and 2) Business Services Team. This position will be involved with other accountant and research administration peers in supporting ~$160 million in grant awards from federal, state, and private agencies.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred, in the area of study in accounting, business, health administration, biological sciences, social sciences, or related field preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of focused post-award grants and sponsored programs administration experience is required, with the demonstrated ability to work within regulatory policies and institutional financial guidelines. Experience with National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant funding is required.
