Applications for hourly Instructor pools are continually accepted (unless otherwise specified) by the District and will be added to the application pool for review by hiring authorities on an as-needed basis. Southwestern College is looking for a part-time, hourly Traffic Violator School ( TVS ) Instructor. Classes may be held during weekdays, weekends and/or evenings, but are typically held on Saturdays.

Responsibilities include:
  • Deliver instructional material
  • Provide participants with the knowledge which they need to pass the traffic violator school
  • Conduct classroom instruction to drivers of all ages and experience levels using provided curriculum
  • Conduct participants’ exam
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of state DMV laws and regulations
  • Maintain knowledge of safe driving and defensive driving practices and maintain all records required by the State of California DMV

  • One year of teaching experience in related field
  • Current Traffic Violator School Instructor License

Licenses and Other Requirements:

All District students and employees must participate in the COVID -19 Vaccination Program, which requires them to be fully vaccinated against COVID -19 unless they receive an approved medical or religious exemption.

Working Conditions:


Licensed instructors will start at $45/hour.

Foreign Degrees:

Foreign degrees require an evaluation for United States equivalency from an agency having membership with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.

Transcripts issued outside the United States of America require a course-by-course analysis with an equivalency statement from a certified transcript evaluation service verifying the degree equivalency to that of an accredited institution within the USA .
