The Department of Cellular Biology at the University of Georgia invites applications for a LECTURER in Human Anatomy and Physiology to begin in Fall 2024.

Responsibilities include instruction of both lecture and laboratory sessions, primarily in anatomy and physiology, as well as managing graduate teaching assistants. The successful candidate will also contribute to the department’s undergraduate curriculum as needed.

A priority in the program is exhibiting care and concern about student performance and a desire to constantly revise and improve course materials to improve student learning and well-being. Lecturers in Anatomy and Physiology (A&P) are expected to adopt evidence-based pedagogies, actively engage in our teaching community, and be willing to learn from and work with others to deliver exceptional learning experiences. Participating in professional development is encouraged and supported to foster these abilities. It is also expected that Lecturers will contribute to the A&P program by:

  • Participating in yearly peer reviews of their own teaching, as well as that of their peers
  • Coordinating course delivery with others who teach the same course
  • Working with graduate teaching assistants to preprepare them for their weekly teaching duties, and to keep abreast of activities in lab sections
  • Assisting in the development of new undergraduate courses as needed
  • Participating in programmatic assessment activities
  • Other duties as needed
