Job Description:

Position Summary:

Provides primary support to student employees and their supervisors across the institution. Primary communication lead for People Center for both students and employees. Support projects and initiatives for non-student employees within the People Center.

Essential Functions
  • Manage and coordinate student employment for the college serving as a liaison between student supervisors and the People Center
  • Create and deliver supervisor and student training related to student employment
  • Enter data accurately into payroll and administrative databases and software programs
  • Maintain meticulous records of documentation and transactions
  • Participate in annual student Job Fair with the goal of guiding students through the employment process
  • Partner with Financial Aid and Career Collaborative team to support student employment
  • Manage and process invoices and expenses
  • Provide administrative, technical assistance and support to students and supervisors to include hiring, I-9 compliance, time card submission and terminations
  • Manage system processes including Oracle job creation, stipend loaders, payroll validation, hiring spreadsheet and auditing Oracle student data
  • Manage communication efforts for the People Center, including weekly institutional newsletter and handling communication requests through various channels
  • Provide support to all employees across the institution on HR needs
  • Process employment verifications and additional requests for employee information
  • Manage various employee recognition programs
  • Coordinate and participate in the delivery of New Hire Orientation
  • Manage People Center student employee(s)
  • Be an active, engaged visible member of the People Center across campus
  • May assist with a variety of HR programs and operations for non-student employees


  • A Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related major. PHR preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws
  • Knowledge of HR practices in higher education
  • Able to handle confidential and sensitive information in a discreet manner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work collaboratively and as a teammate across the institution at all levels
  • Computer proficiency necessary particularly with applicant tracking systems, human resource information systems
  • Excel, powerpoint and google suite tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills, commitment to development of self and others
  • Public speaking and training skills
  • Project management skills
  • Knowledge and commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive and belonging within the organization

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in human resources with a focus on operations, HRIS, applicant tracking systems, recruitment and/or compensation.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions
  • Sitting and/or standing for prolonged time
  • May include overtime as needed
  • Working in an open architecture environment
