Position Summary

The Department of Classical Studies at Trinity College in Hartford, CT seeks to fill a full time, two-year, non-tenure track position for a Visiting Assistant Professor with expertise in Roman studies. This position will begin in July 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a total of five courses per year: a course on Roman civilization, Latin 101, Latin 102, third-semester Latin, and a course whose topic will depend on the candidate’s interest and the department’s curricular needs.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Classics or a related field (A.B.D. also considered). Experience teaching undergraduates is preferred.
