Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the full-time, exempt position of Director of Transfer Admission. This position reports directly to the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment and is located in River Forest, Illinois.

Responsibilities/Primary Duties:

  • Provides leadership for all initiatives associated with the recruitment of undergraduate transfer students and attainment of institutional enrollment goals
  • Provides leadership and direct supervision of the Transfer Admission Counselor and the Articulation and Credit Evaluation Specialist
  • Develops and implements partnership programs with external institutions and organizations to support enrollment of transfer students
  • Works directly with prospective transfer students in navigating the college selection process to achieve all goals associated with attracting, recruiting, admitting, and enrolling the entering class of undergraduate transfer students
  • Directs special programs and coordination of participation in events targeted to the transfer student population
  • Manages an assigned territory and all related travel to community colleges and transfer college fairs throughout the State of Illinois to achieve assigned enrollment goals
  • Provides oversight of the community college visit and transfer college fair schedule, as well as planning and coordination of special transfer initiatives
  • Collaborates extensively with other departmental and university staff to fulfill a variety of roles related to departmental leadership, programming and functions

Skill Sets: The Director of Transfer Admission must:

  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, including presentation skills and experience in use of electronic and social media
  • Provide leadership for other unit staff and those under direct supervision
  • Maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm when working with prospective students
  • Demonstrate superior organizational and project management skills
  • Be capable of managing a recruitment territory and supporting all traditional undergraduate student recruitment as needed
  • Exhibit proven skills in working with a wide range of constituents in an increasingly diverse student environment
  • Improve work performance and that of others by being receptive to and appropriately sharing information and providing leadership to department staff
  • Ensure that all communication with stakeholders is effective, professional, accurate, and timely
  • Exhibit a superior service mentality toward all students, families, colleagues, and other constituents.
  • Possess expert proficiency in use of all unit technology
  • Display flexibility and willingness to work evening and weekend hours as frequently required

Minimum Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 6-7 years of progressively responsible experience in admission at a regionally accredited higher education institution, preferably working with transfer students
  • Demonstrated experience and competency collaborating with external constituents to develop partnerships supporting the enrollment of transfer students
  • Successful experience managing other professionals, ensuring achievement of performance and enrollment objectives

Education Requirements:

Master's Degree in communications, business, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university required
