The School of Engineering at Colorado State University Pueblo offers five undergraduate programs (in civil, industrial, and mechatronics engineering, civil engineering technology, and construction management) and two graduate programs in engineering at the master’s level. The School of Engineering provides engineering courses to support, among other programs, the BS in Civil Engineering (BSCE), the BS in Engineering (BSE) with specialization in mechatronics, BS in Industrial Engineering (BSIE), MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering (MSISE), MS in Mechatronics Engineering (MSME), a minor in Engineering, a minor in Industrial Engineering, and a pre-Engineering program for students who plan to transfer elsewhere for other engineering majors. The department performs research in engineering and provides service to the college, university, the southern Colorado region, and the world. Engineering labs include an Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Center, metals lab, machine shop, measurement lab, mechatronics lab with computer work stations using NI ELVIS equipment and LabVIEW, nanotechnology lab, virtual reality lab, 3D-printing lab, and a robotics lab. Faculty members are involved in research on energy planning, manufacturing issues in nanotechnology, 3D-printing technologies, biomedical devices, logistics, mathematical models for decision making, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and engineering education.

This full-time, nine-month position provides teaching service for two Bachelor of Science degree programs and two Master of Science degree programs. The position focuses especially on mechanical engineering.

Engages in scholarly activity when possible to facilitate personal/professional growth and to support the mission of the academic unit.

Engages in service to the department, college, and the University as needed.

 Primary Duties
Teaches baccalaureate and master’s level courses in the engineering program in accordance with program needs. These duties include preparing and presenting course materials; administering appropriate tests; evaluating student outcomes; selecting and ordering texts; preparing, administering, and grading assignments; and assigning final grades.
 
 Salary Range
 $65,000-$72,000

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in an engineering discipline or a closely related field by position start date
    -and-
    bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering
  • Commitment to value diversity, equity and inclusion in engineering education
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in mechatronics
  • Master’s degree in engineering, math or physical science
  • EIT certification or PE license
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: mechanical devices, machine design, automation, manufacturing.
  • An ability to teach a range of courses and willingness to teach engineering sciences including statics, dynamics
  • A record of teaching experience, applied research and support, and relevant industrial experience
