The Center for the Advancement of Teaching (CAT) at Florida State University seeks a teaching consultant to support graduate students across disciplines in their teaching. Responsibilities include developing and facilitating professional development opportunities for doctoral students (e.g., workshops, reading groups, teaching observations); holding one-on-one teaching consultations; giving feedback on course materials and teaching practices; synthesizing research on learning to create teaching resources; helping grad students develop their teaching philosophies and write compelling teaching statements; and other duties as required. 

This position directly supports FSU’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) which is focused on the enhancement of doctoral education and is a part of the process for Reaffirmation of Accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The teaching consultant will contribute substantially to the new CAT Grads Teaching Development Program, including by collecting data and reporting on measures that are specified within the QEP. 
This position may also include opportunities to work with faculty across disciplines on teaching, particularly faculty who supervise and train TAs. 

Terminal degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or master’s degree plus equivalent qualifications based on years of professional experience. 

Preferred Qualifications
A terminal degree is strongly preferred. Preferred skills include exceptional communication skills and strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. Project management and facilitation are also preferred qualifications.

Anticipated salary range between $65,000–$70,000, commensurate with education and experience.
