Reports to: AUC President

Job Purpose: Reporting to the president and working closely with the senior leadership team, the job holder is responsible for overseeing the effective execution of the University’s Strategic Priorities Roadmap and key institutional transformation objectives. The job holder ensures alignment, monitors and tracks delivery against key milestones and works collaboratively to problem solve and continuously adjust as needed. Bringing a strong analytical mind, project management capabilities and teamwork skills, the job holder is a data-driven, results-oriented leader who works tirelessly to advance the University’s key strategic priorities. The person will maintain a forward-looking lens on strategic planning and continuous improvement while creating an accountable and transparent environment for successful implementation of strategic priorities.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Work with the senior leadership to translate AUC’s Strategic Priorities Roadmap and transformation agenda into clearly defined initiatives with specific milestones, timelines and KPIs Work with senior leadership team to manage integration and coordination of wide range of initiatives to deliver upon implementation goals Develop and implement a tracking mechanism to enable real-time monitoring of progress against deliverables on each initiative, project or task associated with the strategic priorities Provide regular reports and dashboards to support the senior leadership team in results-driven focus on priorities Develop and oversee appropriate committees, task forces and groups as needed to facilitate progress on cross-functional strategies Develop a cohesive reporting and analytics strategy to support information needs, uncover core problems, and improve university outcomes  Identify ways to eliminate inefficiencies that hinder performance—bottlenecks in implementation, problems with data collection, or ineffective communication channels Communicate status, progress, and issues faced by initiatives to senior leaders and relevant strategy implementation groups and committees Establish effective management routines to monitor initiatives, keep work on track and identify issues early Work with analytics and finance support to establish systematized, tracking of progress against metrics, supported by dashboard Partner with HR to create people processes that fairly and transparently manage HR implications of the transformation Partner with the communications, Finance, Business Intelligence and other support teams to develop change management and communication plans to successfully move the University to desired state Support president in execution and follow up of University-wide projects or initiatives Research and advocate for adoption of higher education best practices Perform other duties as assigned

Job Specifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred

Experience:

  • 10+ years of project management experience, preferably in international higher education Experience executing complex university strategic plan or institutional transformation

Skills:

  • Collaborative team player; ability to navigate the University and ensure stakeholders engagement Strong project management experience Strong communication skills and sound judgment with the ability to adapt to a changing environment High impact problem solver and resourceful in dealing with roadblocks Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to help others organize problem solving Creative, strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects and balance short and long-term objectives
