Job Description Summary

The Provost’s Office at Auburn University seeks a collaborative, persistent, and effective leader to serve as the Executive Director of Career Success.
Serving as the primary university champion for post-graduation outcomes, the Executive Director will lead the university’s strategic efforts in executing a cohesive, campus-wide vision for post-graduation success. The Executive Director will advance a coordinated, decentralized network of services designed to enhance student achievement of the institution’s employment and graduate admission goals. Understanding the relationship between analytics, institutional culture, and national trends, the Executive Director will establish strong collaborations across campus leading to data-informed initiatives and approaches to improve student preparation and success. The Executive Director will also communicate student and program successes with internal and external audiences to encourage additional efforts and to establish the university as a leader in student success.

In addition to deploying a team of dedicated professionals, the Executive Director will establish an organizational structure within the Office of Career Success that provides outstanding career exploration services, supports robust career coaching throughout campus, and facilitates a strong campus-wide network of employer relations.

The Executive Director position is a full-time, 12-month non-tenure-track faculty position reporting to the Associate Provost for Academic Effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

- Doctoral degree required (at the time employment begins)
- At least five years of progressive professional experience in career services and/or related student services
- Demonstrated success in building collaborative and cooperative partnerships across multiple stakeholders
- Demonstrated success in facilitating data-informed initiatives with clear goals, realistic measures of success, and regular assessment of results
- Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills that can be used to effectively communicate the vision for student achievement
- Demonstrated success in leading a team of individuals and managing budgets
