Purpose of Position
The University Marketing and Communications department is searching for an imaginative and experienced professional to serve as a Digital Marketing Specialist under the supervision of the Director of Web and Digital Strategy.

Strategically tells the story of NKU through compelling and creative means, using digital media and online platforms to effectively and appropriately share messaging with targeted groups, specifically focused on students, prospective students and friends of the University. Coordinates with internal/external clients and stakeholders in alignment with the University’s strategic plan and prioritize projects to timely develop and execute digital marketing strategies supporting institutional objectives. Incorporates innovative social media practices to advance the University’s brand and reputation, both internally and externally. Also works to promote online licensing sales for additional revenue opportunities via digital marketing initiatives. Primary Responsibilities
  • Spearheading and developing social media strategies to achieve marketing targets.
  • Defines what content and message we want to share on our social media channels and contribute to overall business objectives including raising awareness, advocacy, engagement/interaction and generate conversions from new and returned customers.
  • Responsible for making adjustments to strategic/tactical plans through competitive research, researching social media trends, analyzing engagement statistics, platform determination, benchmarking, and editorial calendar development.
  • Executes digital marketing tactics for the University via social media and President channels, as well as other channels, including but not limited to Athletics and Alumni.
  • Communicates goals and regular outcomes, as well as alignment against the University’s strategic plan.
  • Owns the training and oversight of all University social media channels
  • Serves as a resource and ambassador for proper use of our social media channels.
  • Meets regularly with other social coordinators across campus to establish ongoing communications plans.
  • Collaborates with internal/external clients and stakeholders to develop or edit videos supporting digital marketing campaigns, important communications, special events, or social media tactics for colleges and overall University initiatives.
  • Collaborates with creative team on design concepts that achieve social media or digital marketing campaign objectives.
  • Partners with internal/external clients and stakeholders to develop an annual master and monthly editorial calendars for social media and web features.
  • Works with internal/external clients and stakeholders to develop videography storytelling for events, web and social media.




Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years experience in Journalism, Communication, Digital Media, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Education and experience will be taken into consideration in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.

  • Demonstrated experience in social media strategies, technologies, services and measurement.
  • Social media platform expert with deep understanding of various channels such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Extensive experience in social media copywriting.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate.
  • Familiar with scheduling tools designed to publish social media posts, for monitoring analytics, and building reporting mechanisms for reacting quickly to trends such as Hootsuite.
  • Experience in executing influencer and content partner campaigns.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient with creative software such as Adobe Photoshop, Canva, InDesign, etc.
  • Proficient with video editing software such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.
  • Self-starter with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Experience with community management and crisis communications.
  • Experience with web editing in a content management system such as Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress, etc.
