Founded in 2005, the College of Public Health is located on the University of Georgia’s Health Sciences Campus. The College consists of four departments and three specialized institutes (Institute for Disaster Management, Institute of Gerontology and Global Health Institute). The Department of Health Policy and Management is located in newly renovated facilities that house faculty, staff and students.

The department offers an undergraduate minor in health policy and management, an MHA degree, and a DrPH degree. In addition, the department supports a health policy and management concentration area within the College of Public Health MPH program. Terminal degree appropriate for the position. Exceptions to the terminal degree requirement for clinical appointments may be made for individuals whose experience and accomplishments compensate for, or make irrelevant, the lack of a terminal degree. A request for an exception is subject to prior approval by the Provost following receipt of supporting documentation and the dean’s recommendation. See Additional Requirements below for more information. Position Summary
The Department of Health Policy and Management ( HPAM ) in the College of Public Health, University of Georgia, invites applications for a non-tenure track Clinical Instructor or Assistant Clinical Professor position to manage the department’s MHA program. The successful candidate will serve as Program Manager of the college’s MHA program and will work under direct supervision of the MHA Coordinator to help manage administrative and instructional aspects of the program.

The principal responsibilities of the MHA Program Manager include: (1) administration of the MHA program; (2) advising and supporting students; (3) establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with other units within the university and health agencies within the area; and (4) handling matters relating to accreditation (e.g., CAHME ); The successful candidate will also teach courses in the MHA Program and other related courses for graduate/undergraduate students in health care management and policy areas.

The department offers an undergraduate minor in health policy and management, an MHA degree, and a DrPH degree. In addition, the department supports a health policy and management concentration area within the College of Public Health MPH program. Ideal candidates will have the ability to teach across programs. The department has developed a series of online courses, and interest and expertise in distance education is desired.

Additional Requirements
For appointment at the instructor rank, the successful candidate must have an MHA degree or equivalent (e.g., MPH, MPA, MBA ) and industry experience in health care administration and management, preferably for three or more years. Appointment at the Assistant Clinical Professor rank will require a relevant terminal degree and professional or academic experience, with professional work experience as a health sector leader managing various aspects of the health sector such as health care finance, healthcare operations, quality management, health policy, human resources and/or marketing. Candidates for Assistant Clinical Professor rank without a terminal degree must document significant industry experience and exceptional accomplishments as a leader in the health care sector (e.g., being a leader in health care organizations as President, VP, C-level, etc.) and must be approved for a terminal degree exception before hire. With either rank, the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate relevant industry expertise and contacts that will support the MHA program’s needs for internships, mentoring, and related student requirements.
