Position Description

Manages and directs the day to day operations of a research center/institute or medium sized department. Plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of the center/institute/department. Develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Under the direction of the Assistant Provost for Accreditation and Assessment:
    • The employee will serve as the lead contact for state authorization compliance at the institution.
    • The employee will assist with the management of institutional accreditation processes and procedures.
    • The employee will provide consultation to programs on disciplinary accreditation processes and procedures.
    • The employee will assist with the coordination of institutional compliance processes related to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's (THECB) academic policies and procedures.
    • The employee will assist with the management of institutional academic compliance initiatives related to U.S Department of Education regulations.
    • The employee will be responsible for obtaining and growing his/her knowledge of academic compliance-related topics such as state authorization compliance, assessment, continuous improvement, accreditation practices, and state/federal academic regulations.
    • The employee will perform other duties as assigned within the Office of the Provost, Division of Institutional Effectiveness, and the Office of Academic Planning and Compliance.
