The compensation for this appointment will range from $22.00 to $24.00 hourly and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.

Position Summary Information


Provide support to the Clinical Coordinator/Director of Clinical Education ( DCE ) in all tasks relating to the acquisition and maintenance of clinical sites and administrative tasks required to prepare students for clinical rotations. Assists with other administrative responsibilities including but not limited to admissions, data entry, and event coordination by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Provide data entry and retrieval for web-based electronic data system: Enter, maintain, and retrieve data for ongoing program analyses, maintenance, and accreditation. Assist in creating reports for the Physician Assistant Studies program, institution, and accrediting organization.
  2. Verify Preceptor credentials upon initial contact and maintain documentation annually.
  3. Monitor Clinical Site Affiliation Agreements and coordinate for renewals as needed.
  4. Provide CME Certification as necessary to active PA preceptors and maintain documentation thereof.
  5. Upkeep documentation of affiliate faculty status.
  6. Monitor students for entrance into the clinical year by verifying the following: immunization records, drug screen, background screen, OSHA and HIPPA training certificates, signed waiver to release medical information to clinical sites, ACLS / BLS, and student emergency contacts.
  7. Coordinate OSHA safety training prior to entrance into the clinical year.
  8. Assist and Act in accordance and under the direction of the Program Director and the DCE in collaboration with the clinical team with the clinical year scheduling process, including preceptor and student notification of clerkship schedules.
  9. Assist and Act in accordance and under the direction of the Program Director and the DCE in collaboration with the clinical team with scheduling and coordinating call-back days and clinical orientation.
  10. Data collection and analysis: Input and extract data concerning end-of-rotation exam scores and performance trends.
  11. Assist and Act in accordance and under the direction of the Program Director and the DCE in collaboration with the clinical team with students reporting to clinical sites.
  12. Assist and Act in accordance and under the direction of the Program Director and the DCE in collaboration with the clinical team with community outreach for recruitment of clinical preceptors and sites.
  13. Assist and Act in accordance and under the direction of the Program Director and the DCE in collaboration with the clinical team with maintaining relationships/PR with preceptors such as sending Christmas cards, newsletters, awards, and invitations to graduation ceremonies.
  14. Act as liaison between Graduate Admissions Department and the Physician Assistant Studies program: answer telephone and email inquiries, review and filter PA program applications, initiate applicants’ interview files, and assist in administering screening tests.
  15. Must have a valid and current California driver’s license.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete office work assignments.

  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.  Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
  • Other duties assigned as needed and directed by the Dean, College of Health Science or Chair, Department of Physician Assistant Studies.
Education and/or Experience

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
