This is the lead position for the College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences’ (CAES) Office of Academic Affairs on the UGA Griffin Campus in Griffin, GA. It is responsible for a broad range of student support activities to include student recruitment, academic advising, course and class scheduling, scholarships and financial aid, student enrichment activities (Deans Promise and Experiential Learning), college ambassadors, employer relations, program assessment, fiscal oversight, and other related activities. This is a highly independent role with a dual reporting relationship to the Assistant Provost & Campus Director (Griffin) as well as the CAES Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs. 

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Provide student support services with an emphasis on student recruitment and enrichment activities for the Griffin Campus and for CAES, statewide.
  • Support CAES faculty and staff by coordinating student academic advising and class scheduling, assisting with course and curriculum administration, and arranging student internships and undergraduate research projects. 
  • Provide support to students in the areas of admissions, registration, job placement, study abroad, and CAES sponsored recreational activities, and scholarship assistance. 
  • Serve as a liaison for academic policies and procedures to the Assistant Provost and Griffin Campus Director as well as the CAES Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. 
  • Attend training sessions; participate in campus and other team meetings as well as professional development opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Banner/DegreeWorks student information systems.
  • A master’s degree with 4 years of related experience; OR a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Experience with program coordination and/or public relations, preferably in an academic setting.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and computer skills are essential.
  • The Coordinator will develop, a working knowledge of CAES and UGA academic policies and procedures, including admissions, new student orientation, registration, financial aid, tuition/fee payment, course and room scheduling and student records.

The Coordinator will manage a budget and allocate funds according to policies & procedures.
