Bilingual Dual Enrollment Initiative

The Educadores del Futuro at Rowan (EdFaR) initiative offers the opportunity for NJ high school students to take Rowan University courses taught by Rowan faculty to earn university credits. In partnership with NJ public school districts, the EdFaR initiative provides a dual enrollment opportunity to multilingual NJ students with the goals of (1) closing the achievement, access, and opportunity gaps for multilingual and immigrant-origin students, and (2) building a pathway for students into post-secondary studies with a focus on the teaching profession. EdFaR Objectives
  • Promote opportunities for student university readiness by engaging students in experiential, university-level learning activities through university courses while developing relationships with Rowan faculty;

  • Promote opportunities for student access to university-level academic work by establishing a pathway for local multilingual high school students to gain college credit and exposure to the teaching profession;

  • Provide opportunities for increasing equitable university access for local, low-income, and multilingual students attending high school in NJ schools/districts;
