Job Summary

This is a limited term appointment funded from external sources. Continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funds.

This position will provide professional support for several research projects focused on the abiotic and biotic factors mediating freshwater harmful algal blooms in aquaculture ponds and drinking water and recreational reservoirs. Essential Functions

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Participate in field sampling; conduct lab analyses (i.e., phytoplankton and zooplankton enumeration, algal pigments, nutrients); ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment; maintain inventory and order supplies; and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education Level

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Field of Study

Biology, Chemistry, Ecology, Limnology, or closely related at the time employment begins.

Years of Experience

No experience required for entry level.

Minimum Skills and Abilities

Knowledge/experience with lab water quality analyses, such as analytical chemistry tools like GC-MS or HPLC .

Minimum Technology Skills

Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.

Minimum License and Certifications

Desired Qualifications

Prior coursework in limnology and statistics desired.
