Job Summary

Observe college rules/regulations and state guidelines appropriate to faculty responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plan and carry out instructional duties, which maximize learning by students.
  • Supervise students in accordance with program procedures, academic, and course related concerns.
  • Teach assigned courses in accordance with course descriptions.
  • Work a minimum of 35 hours per week, which includes 15 classroom hours, 10-office or student contact hours, and 10 hours as needed by the program/college.
  • Assist with registration and/or recruitment when requested.
  • Furnish each student with a course syllabus listing performance objective, course expectations, grading procedures, withdrawal procedures, class attendance policies, and office phone and e-mail access.
  • Function as a member of faculty committee in developing the instructional program and educational philosophy of the college.
  • Attend all scheduled or called meetings by the President or Vice President of Academic Affairs, AVP Health Professions, or Program Director of RN-BSN unless excused by the administrator in charge.
  • Teach all classes for the full period as scheduled.
  • Evaluate student progress and achievement with clear methods presented on course syllabus.
  • Utilizes evaluation results for planning, instruction, counseling, and program modification.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Submit grade reports and other required data on or before deadline dates.
  • Resolve discipline problems within sphere of responsibility.
  • Assist and counsel’s students as needed including during office and campus times.
  • Utilizes materials and equipment necessary to accomplish designated tasks.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional developments.
  • Regularly examines content of assigned courses and recommends changes to curriculum committee as needed.
  • Comply with appropriate administrative rules/regulations and Board Policy.
  • Participates in an annual evaluation process as specified by the Vice President Academic Affairs.
  • Participate in Commencement ceremonies.
  • Maintain continuity of communication with students, community, faculty, staff, and supervisors through timely replies to meeting, phone, mail, and email requests.
  • Teach on multiple campus sites as needed.
  • Competent in computer proficiency (Coursework, grading, as well as basic Microsoft Office knowledge)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Demonstrated computer technology proficiency in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Teams, & PowerPoint)
  • Effectively communicate in both a virtual and physical environment
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to successfully demonstrate knowledge and expertise in applied field
Minimum Qualifications & Education
  • Master’s degree in nursing.
  • Doctorate in Nursing preferred.
  • Two (2) most recent years of medical/surgical clinical experience
