Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; This is a temporary position to end on or before June 30, 2025, with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if funds or program needs exist.

About the Position:

The Division of Information Technology (IT) strives to be a strategic, innovative and best‐in‐class IT organization that provides a leading‐edge technology environment for students, faculty and staff to advance the University's mission, vision and goals. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Unit/Department Name team as the Information Technology Consultant - Foundation (Information Technology Consultant). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

The Information Technology Consultant - Foundation will follow security policies and requirements by implementing and maintaining hardware, software, and server equipment such as computers, mobile devices, printers, scanners, cameras, and A/V equipment in classrooms, centers, and other spaces. Provide technical support for Mac, Windows, Linux OS devices, servers and other computing devices and peripherals; in-person, via telephone, web conference, email, etc. to users. Create, maintain, and update documentation, policies, standards and guidelines as required. Troubleshoot issues and take appropriate actions to maintain secure technology operations. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field or four years relevant full-time experience or an associate’s degree in a related field with two years of relevant full-time experience.

Basic knowledge of the specialty work area demonstrated by an understanding and use of general principals and terminology. Demonstrated understanding of the standard technology and systems in place with the capability of supporting and operating the technology. Ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes, and refer to appropriate party for resolution. Ability to solve problems where precedents exist and acquire knowledge in related specialties. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent documentation, written and oral communication skills. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical knowledge to functional units.

Experience imaging, maintaining, upgrading computers. Experience offering help desk support and end-user hardware and software support and maintenance. Experience with server administration. Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, Azure, AWS.

Knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols. Experience with Mac OSX.
