Job Description Summary:

Leads, oversees, and coordinates planning activities and administration of programs and activities.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks
  • Leads one or more specialized projects or programs within the department.

  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and facilitates departmental projects.

  • Serves as community liaison with community partners.

  • Works collaboratively with internal departments of the college.

  • Works collaboratively with Farm Manager in use of facilities

  • Gathers and compiles data for reports and grants.

  • Maintains and updates database information.

  • May research, evaluate, and make recommendations related to project/program that engages and collaborates with Central Texas Farming Community.

  • May maintain and update department website and social media.

  • Conducts outreach to Central Texas Farming Community

  • Engage potential new students through outreach opportunities

Additional Job Specific Duties
  • As assigned

  • Knowledge related to the purpose and/or content of the program and/or project.

  • Knowledge of planning and coordinating related projects and/or programs.

  • Knowledge of Central Texas farming systems and regenerative agriculture practices

  • Maintaining an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

  • Effectively using interpersonal and communication skills, including tact and diplomacy.

  • Effectively using organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Working collaboratively.

  • Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.

  • Prioritizing, implementing, and managing multiple projects and due dates.

  • Effectively working with diverse and multicultural persons.

  • Computer, web and database maintenance skills.

Technology Skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency using standard office software applications.

Required Work Experience
  • Two years related work experience.

Preferred Work Experience
  • Two years work experience farming in Central Texas

Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree.

Special Requirements
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation for travel in the Austin area as required.

Other Preferred Qualifications
  • Assessing, developing, and maintaining website content.

  • Reviewing and preparing narrative and statistical reports and records.

Physical Requirements
  • Work is routinely performed in an office environment.

  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.

  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

  • Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
