The Physics Department at the University of St. Thomas invites applications for a non-tenured clinical faculty position to start Fall semester 2022.

This full time position involves a blend of teaching, course development, service, and an expectation that currency in the discipline will be maintained.  The teaching load is 6-8 courses per year at the undergraduate level which may include Introductory Physics and Astronomy and upper-level Physics courses and labs.  Priority consideration will be given to candidates with experimental skills and an interest in upper-level laboratories. The department especially seeks individuals who can contribute, through their teaching, scholarship, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

The Physics Department serves undergraduate students in courses that fulfill core requirements for all majors, allied requirements for the sciences and engineering, and courses for the minor, B.A. and B.S. in Physics. The department graduates approximately 10 majors and 20 minors per year. We value excellence in teaching and a clear commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive department.

QUALIFICATIONS

We seek applicants who have a Ph.D. in Physics or related fields, alternatively ABD nearing completion of the Ph.D. will also be considered.  Enthusiasm and aptitude for teaching undergraduate majors and non-majors in introductory classes is essential.  Candidates who have experience and/or interest in working with, teaching, and mentoring undergraduate students are particularly encouraged to apply.   The successful candidate will receive a competitive compensation package and comprehensive employee benefits.
