Johns Hopkins, founded in 1876, is America's first research university and home to nine world-class academic divisions working together as one university.
We are seeking a Research Data Manager who will support investigators for on-going HIV behavioral surveillance studies in Baltimore. Manage study databases and data entry tools, and ensure integrity, accuracy and security of data and data collection processes. This position involves independent oversight of all data management and quality assurance activities across multiple projects. This includes field staff training and monitoring as well as management of data entry, storage, security, and analytic procedures. The role is in direct communication with our funders, laboratories, and central data repositories – including primary responsibility for data submissions, cleaning, and analyses. This is a direct report to the PI with oversight responsibilities for the field supervisor and student analysts and collaborative supervision of field staff.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities- Responsible for data submissions and data quality control based on protocol requirements and study objectives.
- Responsible to ensure clean and consistent data handling.
- Work closely with research collaborators to process and analyze data.
- Provide solutions to data management and statistical analysis problems.
- Responsible preparation of data presentations and manuscripts for publication.
- Supervise field staff and provide guidance on day-to-day assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
- Three years related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data management and multivariate analysis.
- Familiar with developing summary reports or manuscripts.

targeted; Commensurate with experience)

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester
hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of
experience. Additional related experience may substitute for

permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may
be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required
for the respective job.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
