Special Event A/V Technician

Position Summary

DESCRIPTION :
Responsible for organizing and supporting audio/video needs for campus special events.

OUTCOMES :
Provide excellent support of academic events and other campus events during all hours.

Essential Functions
  • Operate audio/video equipment for special events during business and non-business hours 60%
  • Maintain and repair audio/video technology in classrooms and other campus spaces 20%
  • Work with event organizers to establish audio/video needs for special events 10%
  • Troubleshoot audio/video issues that are reported to the Help Desk 10%
Experience and Education Required
  • Associates or Undergraduate degree in a related field (Mass Communications, Recording Technology) or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience with theatre lighting, projection, and microphones
  • At least one year of experience with both analog and digital audio mixers / sound boards
  • At least one year of experience with both PC and MAC computer systems
  • Understanding of digital and analog audio/video technologies
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work independently without direction
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, evening and weekends
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to climb ladders and able to lift 50 pounds
