Job Summary

This is a short-term, contract, lecturer appointment, which will provide instruction in one of the following programs:

Mountain Precollege Programs: June 9-21, 2024

Partnership Outreach Program: June 17-28, 2024

STEM Partnership Outreach Program: July 8-19, 2024

***No class will be held on Wednesday, June 19 (Juneteenth) or on Friday, June 21.***

All lecturers will be required to attend a training day on June 5, 2024 at the CU Boulder Campus. We are hiring for the following courses (please click on the links to view individual course descriptions):

Who We Are

The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement, partners with communities across Colorado and beyond to provide first-generation students and their families with comprehensive college preparation and social development programming.

The Partnership Outreach Programs (POP) office provides precollege support to youth from across Colorado. Every summer we welcome and host over 300 students on the CU Boulder campus for summer academic and residential experiences.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

As an instructor you will be expected to:
  • Attend the class(es) you were hired to teach and manage the classroom.
  • Enter grades, plan lessons, and submit a copy of the course syllabi to CUUB Director.
  • Create duties for the Instructor's Assistant in the classroom.
  • Attend required training sessions and weekly staff meetings.
  • Maintain active communication with Director of the program.
What You Should Know
  • Participants of our programs are primarily first-generation students, with other marginalized identities (such as low-income, LGBTQ+, immigrant status, ethnically diverse, etc.), thus we require the instructor to have experience supporting and teaching our diverse student population.
  • This position requires you to teach in-person.
  • We strongly encourage the instructor to use a web based platform for course deliverables and materials (if applicable).
  • The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement can provide, at no cost to the instructor, course materials and printing if requests are made at least two weeks in advance.
What We Can Offer

The salary range for these positions will be $1,837 - $2,224.

  • The ideal applicant will have a minimum of one year of experience tutoring or teaching.
  • Experience working as part of a team and working with diverse communities.
