Wake Forest University seeks a seasoned, collaborative, and service-oriented leader to serve as the University Registrar.

The University Registrar will join Wake Forest during a time of significant momentum with the fall 2023 launch of a new strategic framework, "Framing our Future" which is a collective vision, formed through conversations with more than 1,000 faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents, and friends over the last year. This new framework charts the path for Wake Forest's future with thematic goals and objectives, and it will serve as the enduring institutional compass and guide for future initiatives. The University is also in the midst of a multi-year systems transition to Workday Student, in which the University Registrar will play a key role in both implementation and adoption as well as continuous improvement. Thus, the new leader will join Wake Forest during a time of substantive change and will have an opportunity to make their mark on the University.

The University Registrar reports to the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and serves as a visible, collaborative campus leader. While attending to the provision of exceptional administrative, logistic, and academic record-keeping services for students, faculty, staff, and alumni and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and other regulatory agencies, the University Registrar will set the strategic vision for a state-of-the-art and forward-thinking registrar's function, implementing systems and structures in support of effective data and records management, operational efficiencies, and streamlined processes. The new University Registrar will provide leadership, vision, and mentorship to a committed staff and foster a culture of inclusivity, curiosity, accountability, transparency, equity, open communication, teamwork, student-centeredness, and service. This position plays a pivotal role in advising on academic policy matters and carries out academic administration in cooperation with leadership.

The successful candidate will welcome change and bring wide-ranging knowledge across all aspects of a registrar function and a record of accomplishment in enhancing the academic enterprise through strong stewardship combined with strategic thinking and expert management. The next University Registrar will have knowledge of the application of complex student information systems and course registration, enrollment, and student record-keeping policies and practices, along with the ability to be effective in a collaborative environment. Strong customer service skills, an authentic interest, and ability to partner with and serve multiple stakeholders, nimbleness in a changing environment, creative thinking, resourcefulness, and a proactive mindset are essential. A minimum of seven years of professional accomplishment as a faculty member and/or academic administrator in a four-year accredited university with experience in an academic information and records office is required. At least five years of supervisory experience and a bachelor's degree are also required; an advanced degree is preferred.
