Position Title: Senior Lecturer - Graphic Communications Department

Full-time, nine-month senior lecturer position based on a yearly renewable contract to teach undergraduate courses in the experiential Brand Communications minor program housed within the Graphic Communications department in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business.

Applicants must fit within our hands-on project-based learning philosophy and will be expected to primarily teach undergraduate courses in the Brand Communications minor program, including hands-on laboratory courses.

Applicants must have expertise in three or more of the following areas or ability to train in areas of need: previous experience with applied Brand Communications and brand-building frameworks, theories and practices for building brand culture and leadership within brand and agency teams, digital, social, and experiential strategies for building brands, Adobe knowledge and/or expertise.

This role will also assist with course and curriculum development, advise students, supervise and promote special projects, assist in developing project partnerships and industry relationships, and participate actively in department, college and university activities.

Successful applicants to this position will be expected to teach undergraduate brand communications courses with concepts applied through projects in the classroom. They will also assist with course and curriculum development, advise students, develop hands-on labs to support course theory and project materials, develop and maintain industry partner relationships, develop working relationships in other departments and colleges, assist with experiential events as needed, and participate actively in department, college, and university activities. The anticipated start date would be late Summer for the start of the Fall 2024 semester.


• Effective oral and written communication skills including use of creative lecture and laboratory teaching strategies and proficiency in instructional technology practices.

• The ability to conduct academic advising with undergraduate level students.

• Effective interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with colleagues.

• A minimum of a master’s degree along with teaching experience is highly preferred; however, applicants with exceptional industry and/or academic experience will also be considered. PhD’s will also be considered.
