Job Summary

The Center for Leadership encourages applications for a part-time Community Engagement and Leadership Development Coordinator! This position will play a pivotal role in creating a vibrant and inclusive leadership community within the Center and CU Boulder. This role will be responsible for evaluating, training, and supporting our affiliates while fostering effective communication channels to enhance the overall community experience.

The Center for Leadership, founded in fall 2020 under the direction of Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano, serves as a multidisciplinary leadership hub to support, connect, and elevate leadership programs, resources, and research across the university.

We exist to help all students reach their leadership potential, in alignment with the chancellor's strategic imperative of shaping tomorrow's leaders. We also engage faculty, staff, and the broader external community in their leadership development so they can have a greater impact around the world. As an incubator for scholarship on leadership, we seek to bolster rigorous interdisciplinary inquiry to showcase CU Boulder faculty research.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Affiliate Evaluation:
  • Assess and evaluate affiliates to ensure they align with the Center for Leadership's mission and values, and meet student learning outcomes and core proficiencies.
  • Gather feedback from affiliates and partners to assess the effectiveness of programs and initiatives.
  • Use feedback to make data-driven improvements and adjustments to enhance the overall experience for the leadership community.
  • Assist with tracking student engagement for the Center for Leadership and affiliate programs.

Affiliate Training:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for affiliates, equipping them with the vital skills, knowledge, and resources to effectively educate students on the learning outcomes developed by the Center for Leadership and the affiliate.
  • Provide ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance the leadership capabilities of affiliate staff, faculty, and students.

Community Building:
  • Foster a sense of community among affiliates and the educator network through organized events, summits, workshops, and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborate with affiliate members to build an encouraging and engaging environment that encourages collaboration and shared learning.
  • Assist the Program Manager with the Leading EDGE Council student group.

Communication:
  • Maintain effective communication channels to keep affiliates informed about important updates, events, and opportunities.
  • Use various platforms, including social media, newsletters, and regular meetings, to facilitate transparent and open communication within the leadership community.

Projects:
  • Collaborate with the Center for Leadership’s team to bring new programs and initiatives.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.
What You Should Know
  • This part-time position offers flexibility for work hours during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, and requires occasional work during weekends and evenings to support events. This position offers a hybrid work modality (2/3 time in the office, 1/3 time remote).
What We Can Offer
  • The hiring range for this 50% time position is $27,500 - $35,000 annually.

What We Require
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field (e.g., Communication, Organizational Development, Leadership Studies, or related field) and 1+ year of experience in community development, leadership development, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.

What We Would Like You to Have
  • Experience in, or understanding of, a non-profit or higher education environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, Salesforce, Zoom, Teams, LinkedIn, DocuSign, Marketplace, WebExpress.
