The Program Director for Occupational Therapy is needed to oversee the development, management, and administration of the program, including planning, development, delivery, evaluation, budgeting, and faculty and staff.

The Department of Kinesiology in the College of Health Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke is seeking applications for a dynamic and creative leader to serve as the founding Program Director for a new master’s degree in Occupation Therapy (MSOT). The position is a full time, tenure-track position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:  The Director of the Master of Occupational Therapy Program must have an earned doctorate in Occupational Therapy or related degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency. The successful candidate must have a minimum of eight years of documented experience in the field of occupational therapy. This experience must include clinical practice as an occupational therapist; administrative experience, including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting; scholarship (e.g., scholarship of application, scholarship of teaching and learning); and at least three years of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level. Current certification by the national Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy is required.

Management Preferences:  A working knowledge of ACOTE Standards and expectations; effective leadership, including exceptional organizational skills; and prior administrative experience in program planning, implementation, and personnel management.

Licenses and Certifications:  Current certification by the national Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
