Belmont Data Collaborative is dedicated to harnessing the power of data for community benefit, serving Belmont students and working professionals by delivering curricula and programming to help fill the ever-evolving need for data skills in nearly every workforce environment. The BDC also partners with various stakeholders to drive innovation, consult on data-related needs and to offer exploratory analysis and internships.

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Director to lead the Belmont Data Collaborative into its next phase of growth and impact. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data-driven solutions, exceptional leadership skills, and a track record of successfully managing collaborative initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Manage all operational aspects of the BDC to include budget oversight and supervision of faculty and staff, including the development, implementation, and assessment of BDC programs & initiatives.
· Engage industry, government, and community partners to further BDC initiatives, which includes building partnerships across campus to support BDC goals & initiatives and identifying and establishing funding sources to support BDC mission & goals.
· Oversee the creation of curricular & co-curricular programs and opportunities for students in the fields of data including the development of educational and networking opportunities to engage professionals in the fields of data and opportunities to connect with community constituents with unmet data-related needs.
· Lead an advisory council of faculty, staff, and industry partners.
· Communicate and engage with university leadership to provide vision and advise on the strategic implementation of Data Science and AI efforts and goals.

Required Qualifications:

· Highly proficient in analytical thinking, critical thinking, and project management
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Ability to maintain and promote a culture of high standards, ethics, and integrity among the BDC team.
· History of collaboration across teams inside and outside of your organization.
· Technical proficiency sufficient to evaluate technologies in Data Warehousing, AI, ML, Analytics, and cutting edge computing.

Required Education Required Education: Doctoral Degree in Computer Science, Management, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field strongly preferred.

Required Experience Required Experience: • 10+ years of executive leadership • Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams and fostering a collaborative work environment. • Proven skills in defining vision in the following areas: data and AI, community engagement, and, preferably, higher education. • Expertise in championing strategy and roadmap with senior leadership • Proven track record of securing grants for a university or nonprofit organization

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak and hear sufficiently to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes. The employee’s vision must be adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc. The position requires good manual dexterity. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing as necessary.
