Job Description

The Information Management and Business Analytics (IMBA) department in the Feliciano School of Business at Montclair State University is recruiting a pool of adjunct faculty with the ability to teach various business analytics subjects such as database systems and SQL, and data analysis with Python, machine learning and text mining in our Master of Business Analytics Program which will be delivered in Lakewood, NJ.

The mission of the Feliciano School of Business is to transform today’s students into tomorrow’s business leaders. The School, which is accredited by AACSB International, offers distinctive programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level including a new BS in Business Analytics, BS in Business Administration (ten concentrations), BS in Accounting, BA in Economics, MBA, MS in Accounting, MS Business Analytics, MS Digital Marketing Analytics, MS Human Resource Analytics, and various graduate level certificates and minors and certificates for non-business students. Both academics and program-related activities are focused on student success and providing experiential opportunities beyond the classroom. The Ellyn A. The School also houses the Center for Business Analytics and Innovative Technologies and the Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship. Nearly 105 full-time faculty and 35 staff members bring an impressive range of expertise to the School, with terminal degrees and advanced training from leading universities. The Department of Information Management and Business Analytics (IMBA) offers a new BS in Business Analytics, BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Management of Information Systems (MIS), a minor in Business Analytics, two graduate certificate programs in Business Analytics and Project Management, and a Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA). The department also supports the MBA Program, teaching both required and elective MIS and BA graduate courses.

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Key responsibilities include:

• Review course materials and coordinate course activities with the IMBA course lead instructor.
• Meet all course learning objectives.
• Utilize Montclair State University’s Canvas learning management system.
• Provide students with timely, appropriate, and specific feedback.
• Grade assignments and exams within 72 hours.
• Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.
• Hold weekly recitation sessions on site (Lakewood, NJ) as scheduled.
• Submit final grades according to Montclair State University guidelines and deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

• MBA or Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) with concentration or specialization in information technology, management information systems, statistics, operations, analytics, or related field.
• 3 or more years of current professional experience in the areas of information technology, management information systems, statistics, operations, analytics, or related field.
• Ability to demonstrate excellence in teaching
• Proficiency in Python, Machine Learning, or Text Mining.
