Field and Administrative Coordinator — Social Work

Position Purpose:

The George Williams School of Social Work Field and Administrative Coordinator supports learning by overseeing administrative tasks necessary to the implementation of academic and field instruction between the program and the field sites. The Field and Administrative Coordinator will oversee the coordination of field placement processes, lead in the maintenance of field assessments and databases; conduct outreach, facilitate onboarding, and training of field placement sites; develop training tools and provide administrative support to social work students and alumni.

Work Hours :

Expected equivalent of 40 hours per week, but days/hours may vary as needed.

  • Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides coordination of field processes for undergraduate students at the Aurora campus.
  • Serves as lead manager of the field and assessment database, including monitoring database updates, training on database use, and ongoing information maintenance.
  • Conducts outreach to new and potential field placements and field instructors in an effort to broaden student learning opportunities in the field in collaboration with the field director and field coordinators.
  • Communicates, assesses, and trains new and potential field placements and field instructors in collaboration with the field director and field coordinators to broaden student learning opportunities in the field.
  • Obtains knowledge of the BSW and MSW programs operating at all the Aurora University campuses and communicates mission and learning/teaching objectives to students and field instructors.
  • Serves as main contact for social work licensure questions and facilitates the completion of post-graduation licensure paperwork.
  • Creates and implements strategies for alumni engagement and support, in collaboration with the school, college, and university.
  • Participates in recruitment events for undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Essential Job Requirements:

    Education:
    • Bachelor’s in Social Work required; master’s degree in Social Work is preferred.
    Experience:
    • Previous experience supervising social work field placements is preferred.
    Skills:
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Generalist social work skills/knowledge.
    • Excellent conflict resolution or mediation skills recommended.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
    • Ability to move about campus.
    • Ability to use computer, telephone, email, or office equipment.
    • Ability to drive a vehicle to various field placement locations.
