Position Summary: Maintenance Technicians are essential to the update and functionality of our campus facilities. Address preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failures, and make necessary repairs. Ensure logs and tracking is maintained. Duties/Responsibilities:

● Maintain regular, predictable attendance on campus in accordance with University policy. ● Maintain records of equipment repairs, adjustments, replacement parts, and report problems

to the Director, labor hours, assets. ● Have knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, appliances (residential and

commercial), regulating/adjusting/calibrating controls, lighting, utilities (water, sewer, electrical, gas).

● Service and troubleshooting on all topical areas listed above. ● Perform a variety of preventive maintenance on all equipment. ● Assist with event set up / take down for high profile events. ● Maintain proper use of all equipment in a safe manner, including machinery, power tools,

chemicals. ● Attend all safety training and other required meetings (ex., OSHA, machinery operation

training, Bloodborne pathogens, fire safety, etc). Follow all safety practices and policies. ● Support additional functions and services provided by the Campus Service Center (custodial

and grounds maintenance, such as, but not limited to painting, cleaning, laying carpet/LVT, snow/ice removal, disaster clean up, etc.).

● Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of the University community to provide education and customer service.

● Other job duties/responsibilities may be assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: ● Ability to follow instructions regarding the use of supplies, chemicals, equipment, and use

as directed. ● Ability to safely operate power tools, golf carts, trucks / trailers, etc. ● Ability to drive golf carts, Work Horse UTV and pull / back trailers. ● Some night and weekend hours are necessary.

Education and Experience: ● Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. ● High school graduate or GED required.

WINGATE UNIVERSITY HUMAN RESOURCES

● Previous facility maintenance experience in an education or commercial setting preferred. ● Vocational training for various trades preferred.

Physical Requirements: ● Ability to move items up to 75 pounds and be physically able to stand, walk, climb, squat,

kneel, push, pull, twist, bend, lift and carry items. ● Exposure to outdoor elements with hot and cold temperatures, noise levels (e.g., machinery),

and vibration and exhaust / fumes from equipment.
