Duties and Responsibilities:

Auburn University at Montgomery is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations. This position will report directly to the Executive Director of Facility Planning and Operations and will provide technical knowledge and management for facilities and operations. The candidate selected for this role will be responsible for the following:
  • Planning, organizing, and oversight of several complex campus operations.
  • Assists with the management of contracts and vendors for facility maintenance, repair, and operations.
  • Management of housing facilities, janitorial, and grounds operations.
  • Manages special projects and coordinates with contractors on jobsites and facilities.
  • May be required to serve on an on-call status for emergencies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of facility operations, OSHA regulations, and state contract guidelines.
  • Knowledge of work tickets and how to prioritize work requests.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, time and attendance systems, and processing invoices.
  • Supervisory skills, along with the ability to communicate tasks and direction to subordinates in a clear and concise manner.
  • The ability to provide solutions for efficiencies and operational improvements for facilities and operations.
  • Ability to train employees and supervisors on procedures and facility operations.
Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • A bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Horticulture or closely related field
  • Four (4) years’ of experience in facility operations and/or landscape operations
  • Three (3) years’ of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Experience
  • Landscape Certifications
